Iceland - The source - the Water

Iceland, the land of “fire and ice,” is considered one of the world’s cleanest ecosystems. An article written in Forbes magazine recently ranked 163 countries based on 25 indicators including water and air quality, greenhouse gas emissions, and impact of the environment on the health of the population. The results indicated that Iceland, was the cleanest country in the world. When considering bottled water from natural springs, Iceland Water™ stands out because it comes from the huge and proven underground Spring in the cleanest country in the world, Iceland.

Quality checks and water analysis are always ongoing to ensure that both the source and the finished bottled Iceland Water™ products meet all the top food safety and quality standards required for world's markets.  The facilities and products are to be fully accredited Iceland's local, regional and Federal agency standards, which follow the EC regulations. The source is managed and maintained by the regional food and drink agency in Iceland.  IWI is also to be certified by the NSF and others in the industry and always meet or exceed U.S.A. Food & Drug Administration, EC agencies and World Health Organization requirements. Both the fully sustainable natural spring source and the facility are also regularly inspected by the Icelandic Public Health Authority, which carries out tests to ensure the facility is operating in compliance with WHO standards and others. In addition to governmental requirements, Iceland Water International has also inhouse lab and performs extensive and frequent testing at the lab on source and finished products.  

Iceland Water™ is a world's class natural spring water and here is why. The water is low in TDS- around 50 ppm - but naturally high in Alkaline - around 8 in pH.  That's how the water comes from the ground to the plant.  The water is an exceptionally pure natural spring water sourced from one of the world’s largest and best protected natural spring - a massive underground river in Iceland natural reserves and IWI captures it just before it enters the Atlantic Ocean. The water is soft, crips and tastes the way water should taste, crisp, refreshing and just overall good. Iceland Water ™ possesses unique balance, of a naturally occurring low mineral content with Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) of just around 50 ppm and naturally high alkaline pH level of 8 plus. The source is one of the largest in the world as said before and is 100% sustainable.  Ancient rain, snow and glacier combine to replenish the underground river, that is the base for the spring. Spring is an extensive and vast underground renewable resource formed over 5,000 years ago. Shielded by an impenetrable barrier of lava rock and nature reserves. Nothing is added or taken away in the bottling process, as it comes out of the ground that pure and perfect for the bottle. Continually replenished from mountains in Iceland by a gradual and continuous filtration of rain, snow and ice melt, the Spring is 100% sustainable and the entire production process is green.  Iceland Water™ uses only what's underground to ensure the best protection and what flows directly under its waterworks. We estimate to be using less than 1 % of the Spring’s capacity - with 2 to 3 billion liters of bottled water from the Olfus source - making IWI the world's largest volume water bottling plant in the world.
